Embodied Intelligence:
VR, AI, and Skill Acquisition in Humanoid Robotics

October 30, 2026

About This Symposium:

This symposium examines the convergence of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and humanoid robotics, with particular emphasis on immersive environments as platforms for training embodied robotic systems. As VR matures from a visualization medium into a substrate for teleoperation, demonstration capture, and policy learning, it increasingly serves as the bridge between human skill and autonomous machine behavior. We invite contributions that advance the theory, methods, and applications spanning this intersection — from VR-mediated data collection and sim-to-real transfer to the cognitive and human factors that shape how skills move between human operators and robotic agents. We welcome work from machine learning, robotics, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, and allied disciplines, and especially encourage submissions that cut across these boundaries.

We welcome submissions in the following areas, among others:

- Immersive teleoperation and human demonstration capture

- Learning from demonstration and imitation-based robot training

- Sim-to-real transfer and synthetic training environments

- Multimodal interfaces and haptics for embodied training

- Human-in-the-loop control and shared autonomy

- Foundation models and embodied AI for humanoid systems

- Motor skill acquisition, embodiment, and skill transfer

- Evaluation, benchmarking, and generalization

- Human factors, safety, and ethics of VR-trained robotics
